What is Path of Exile 2?

Journey across the deadly continent of Wraeclast in this next-generation, free-to-play action-RPG created by Grinding Gear Games.

Meet multiple immersive cultures while facing off against evil in many forms in Path of Exile 2. Choose from 12 character classes, 240 Skill Gems, hundreds of equipment base types, a six-act campaign, more than 100 unique boss fights, a deep endgame system and so much more.

Play with your friends without losing any progress with couch co-op, cross-play and cross-progression. Newcomers to Path of Exile's deep mechanics can use in-game tutorials and a new help system to understand combat options and consequences.

Path of Exile 2 key features

New and familiar character classes

Path of Exile 2 features 12 character classes, with two for every combination of Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence. Combine skills from many classes to create your ideal character build. Each of the 12 classes has three Ascendancy specializations, resulting in 36 Ascendancy Classes to pick from.

Challenge over 100 bosses

Each and every area of the Path of Exile 2 campaign contains a boss encounter. Across the game there are over 100 unique bosses to fight, all of which have unique abilities and mechanics to learn and overcome.

New Skill Gem and equipment systems

Make the most of 240 Skill Gems that grant devastating skills, and 200 Support Gems that modify the behaviour of these abilities. You can also dual-specialize your passive skill tree to switch between two fighting styles at will. With 100s of equipment base types to uncover and a wide range of magical modifiers, you can adapt to any situation.

Endgame content

When you reach the conclusion of Path of Exile 2's six-act campaign, you'll gain access to its endgame. Here, over 100 endgame maps are playable, with their own boss fights, and you can activate further modifiers that enable revamped versions of previous Path of Exile leagues.
