What is EVO?

The Evolution Championship Series is the world's premier fighting game tournament series. Players from around the world gather each year to watch an open format tournament crown EVO world champions in a range of popular fighting games.

EVO's origins and rise

From humble beginnings in a San Diego arcade with just 40 participants, the Evolution Championship Series — known as EVO — has evolved into a global phenomenon amassing millions of casual gamers, esports enthusiasts and industry professionals in a passionate community dedicated to advancing the world of fighting games.

For more than two decades EVO has been the epicenter for competitive fighting games, uniting the best players globally in a thrilling three-day competition. In addition to the main event in Las Vegas, EVO Japan stands as another embodiment of this same spirit.

What is happening at EVO this year?

Featuring over 9,000 registered competitors with players from over 72 countries, this year's EVO event takes place in Las Vegas and includes tournaments for the recently released Street Fighter 6, upcoming installments in the Mortal Kombat and Tekken franchises and more titles, including:
