What is the Beta Program at PlayStation?

It’s an easy way to declare your interest in beta testing, get access to test new games and console features, and help us make them the best that they can be.

Who can become a beta tester?

To be considered for the Beta Program at PlayStation you must:

  • Have a valid account for PlayStation Network in good standing. Accounts with restrictions or violations may not be eligible for participation.
  • Live in a region where the Beta Program at PlayStation is available.
  • Meet the legal age requirements for your region.

How do I join the Beta Program at PlayStation?

Get started by filling out a quick registration form – tell us a bit about yourself so we can get to know your gaming preferences better. You’ll also need to agree to the Beta Program at PlayStation Terms.

Submitting the registration form allows you to be considered for participation, but it does not guarantee your selection for any beta tests. You only need to register once, and if invited to join certain beta tests, you can decide if you want participate or not.

Once you’ve provided all of the required information and accepted the terms outlined in the registration process, we’ll send an email to let you know if you’ve been successfully enrolled. Invitations to participate in the program are at SIE’s sole discretion.

You’ll receive an invitation email for each upcoming beta you’ve been selected for.

We’ll email you full instructions on how to get started when it’s time to begin.

Participants who do not wish to join a particular beta can simply choose not to register when they receive an invitation email. You may also leave the program at any time if you no longer wish to participate.

No, betas are time-limited and participation does not guarantee continued access to the game or content after the beta ends.

Your account has not been suspended, and there have been no breaches to terms outlined in the PlayStation Network Terms of Service, which includes the Community Code of Conduct.

There’s no additional cost for participating. You’ll need an internet connection, and to own the required hardware (PS5 console, PC, or mobile device) to take part in specific betas. Subscriptions (such as PlayStation®Plus) are not required.

Participation in the program is voluntary, and you will not be compensated for your time or feedback unless explicitly stated.

Participants are encouraged to report bugs, performance issues and provide general feedback using platforms or tools provided by the testing team. Guidance will be shared before the Beta begins.

All feedback will be gratefully received and evaluated by development teams. Please note that when you send us ideas as part of your feedback you agree to transfer ownership of those ideas to SIE, and if applicable they may be used to improve games, products and services for all players.

Beta builds may contain bugs or performance issues. You should participate with the understanding that these builds are not final and may not represent the full game quality.

Yes you can, we’ll provide more guidance on backing up data and reverting system software prior to relevant betas.

No, all participants are required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Sharing content, screenshots, videos, or details about the beta outside of approved channels is prohibited. Any downloads/voucher codes supplied to you are tied exclusively to your account and can’t be shared, sold, or transferred to another person.
