How to make a report on PSN
Find out how to make reports on PlayStation®5 consoles, PlayStation®4 consoles, and PlayStation®App.
You should report any profiles, player content, or messages sent by other players if they breach our Code of Conduct.
How to report a message on PS5 consoles
- Press the PS button on your controller to open up the control centre, and select Game Base.
- Select the Messages icon and highlight the message. Then press the options button on your controller, and select Report.
- Select Next and choose the reason for your report.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
You can choose to block the user at the end of the report.
- Select Messages from the function screen.
- Highlight the message and press the OPTIONS button, then select Report.
- Select Next and choose the reason for your report.

- From the home screen, tap the Chats icon from the top left.
- Press and hold the message and select Report Message.
- Select the message and select the reason for your report.

How to report a profile or content on PS5 consoles
- Press the PS button on your controller to open up the control centre, and select Game Base.
- Select the Friends icon and select Search for Players to search for and select a player, or select a player from your friends list.
- Select … (More) > Report and choose the reason for your report.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.

- Select Friends from the function screen.
- Select Search to search for and select a player, or select the player from your All Friends list.
- Press the OPTIONS button, select Report and choose the reason for your report.

- Select … (More) > Report and choose the reason for your report.

How to report a voice chat on PS5 consoles
Voice Chat reporting is supported only on PS5® consoles.
- Press the PS button on your controller to open up the control centre and select the voice chat card where the conversation took place.
- Select ... (More) > Report and choose the reason for your report.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to report.
You can choose to block the user at the end of the report.
- You're able to report a 40-second clip of the last 5 minutes of talking (you can only clip 20 seconds, but 10 seconds are automatically added before and after that).
- Select I'm Unsure if you don't know who was talking at the time.
- The voice chat feature doesn't actively monitor or record your conversations. We only record reports of online abuse or harassment for investigation.
- You can still report other players, and players can still report you if you disable voice data collection. If you enable it, it helps Sony Interactive Entertainment improve voice features like transcription and voice input.
- To enable or disable voice collection, go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Privacy > Voice Data Collection.

If you see or hear something offensive while playing a game, please use the in-game reporting feature. However, some games may not have a reporting feature.
Moderators review reports and decide whether the reported content breaches our Code of Conduct. If it does, we remove the content and take appropriate action against the player who shared it.
- You receive notifications when a report is submitted, reviewed, and when we take action.
- False reporting breaches our Code of Conduct and may result in a temporary or permanent suspension of your account.
