You'll need to download the Media Player from PlayStation™Store before you can play content and view your photos. Select Media Player from the content area or Library, and then select Download from the screen that appears.

Connected USB storage devices or media servers that are on the same network as your system will be detected and automatically displayed.
Select the USB storage device or media server.
Select the content that you want to play.
In order to view or play files from an external storage device, such as a USB stick or external hard drive, video and image files must be saved within a folder on your storage device. Music files must be saved within a folder titled "MUSIC".
Start playing music using the Media Player. Press the PS button to return to the home screen. You can then start a game or other application while continuing to listen to music in the background.
To pause playback, adjust the volume or change other settings, press and hold the PS button and select Media Player from the quick menu.
Family managers can set parental-control levels on their PlayStation system to restrict access to content.
Go to Settings > Accessibility > Closed Captions and select Display Closed Captions.
Restart the Media Player, start a video and press the OPTIONS button to activate Closed Captions.
Some languages are not supported in Media Player.
