To celebrate God of War’s 20^th Anniversary on 22 March 2025, the God of War Dark Odyssey collection is available at no additional cost for all owners of God of War Ragnarök on PlayStation™Store and PC.¹

Included is a brand-new update to the God of War Dark Odyssey appearance originally from God of War II, as well as various cosmetic armors, attachments and appearances. This update can be received from any Lost Items chest in the main game, and will be received automatically in God of War Ragnarök Valhalla.²

Relive Kratos and Atreus' epic Norse journey from the beginning in Myths of Midgard. Those new to God of War be forewarned: spoilers ahead.

There once was a god from a far-off land,
Who settled in Midgard disguised as a man.
He started a new life, had a wife and a boy,
They were happy together, in peace they found joy.

His wife passed away, Kratos mourned with his son,
But where one journey ended, a new had begun.
Faye's final request, though it seemed rather bleak,
"Spread my ashes atop the nine realms' tallest peak."

They made way for the mountain, Kratos taught the boy skills,
Keeping godhood a secret, but training to kill.
Gods were always in danger, this Kratos knew —
But secrets, he'd learn, could harm the boy too.

Mother and Son

It has been a few winters since her son Baldur died at Kratos' hand, and Freya is set on vengeance. She sacrificed much to take up her sword again and spends her days hunting down Kratos and Atreus. Although Baldur was a lost soul, who hated his mother, he was her only bit of light in an otherwise dark and traumatic life. Kratos robbed her of that light. Through grief and anger, she channels her fierce warrior past — her quest for revenge keeps her strong and dangerous.
