Learn how to restrict your child from using their existing Discord account for voice chat on their PlayStation 5 console.

How to restict child accounts from Discord

Parents and family managers may choose to restrict their managed child accounts from accessing Discord on PlayStation Network by selecting Restrict in the Communication and User-Generated Content Family Management setting.

What to do if your child has already set up their existing Discord voice chat on their PlayStation 5 console

If your child links an existing Discord account to PlayStation Network, the family manager will receive an email notification advising them of this new status.

To restrict access to a currently linked Discord account, parents and family managers must Unlink Discord in the Linked Services Family Management setting and select Restrict in the Communication and User-Generated Content Family Management setting. This will restrict access to Discord and any other linked social features.

Only players with linked Discord accounts can access Discord on PlayStation Network.

Discord may not be available to all child accounts, depending on age and location. For more information, visit the Discord age restriction support article.

These settings do not affect your child's ability to use Discord on other devices such as laptops, phones or tablets.
