How to use PayPal on PlayStation Store

Find out how to use PayPal as a payment method on PlayStation™Store, and which countries/regions support PayPal payments.

Before you add PayPal to your account, check whether it's supported on PlayStation Store in your country/region.

How to link PayPal to your account online

If you add a payment method while shopping on PlayStation Store, the payment information is saved to your account.

  1. Sign in to Account Management and select Payment Method.
  2. Select Add Payment Method > Add a PayPal Account.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to log in to your PayPal account.

  2. Select Payment and Subscriptions > Payment Methods > PayPal Account.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to log in to your PayPal account.
  1. Go to PlayStation Store.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the sidebar and select Payment Methods.
  3. Select Add a PayPal Account.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to log in to your PayPal account.
  • You can also use PayPal to top up your wallet, which you can then use to make purchases on PlayStation Store.
  • A child account can't add payment methods or wallet funds, and can only make purchases using funds from the family manager's PlayStation wallet within a monthly spending limit.
    This limit is automatically set to 0 when the account is created.

Having issues making a purchase with your linked PayPal account?

  • Make sure to activate the payment methods linked to your PayPal account, and check they haven't expired.
  • Try making the purchase on another device or console.
  • This issue might be temporary. Wait 24 hours from your last purchase attempt and then try again.
  • Please contact PayPal to confirm that there is no problem with your PayPal account.
  • Consider using another payment method.

Can’t link your PayPal account?

  1. Please check whether your country/region supports PayPal.

  2. Check the PSN status page. Please wait until the services are showing as green before attempting to add your PayPal account.

  3. Please check that your PayPal account isn't linked to another account for PlayStation Network. A PayPal account can only be linked to one account.

  4. Check that the card details on your PayPal account are correct and the card isn't expired.

  5. Consider using another payment method to make your purchase.
