How to change or reset your password for PlayStation Network

Find out how you can change or reset your password if you’re having trouble signing in to your account.

How to change your password for PSN online

  1. Sign in to Account Management. 
  2. Select Security from the sidebar. 
  3. Click Edit next to Password to change your password.
    You can also switch to passkey authentication for a quick and secure sign-in experience.

  1. Click Save to confirm your changes.
    You can now sign in to your account using your new password.
Reset password
  1. Go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Security. 
  2. Select Security > Password.
  3. Choose and confirm the new password, then select Continue.

  2. Select Security > Password. 
  3. Create and confirm the new password, then select Continue.

How to reset a child account password online

Only a family manager can reset the password for a child account.

  1. As the family manager, sign in to Account Management. 
  2. Go to Family Management.
  3. Choose the child account and select Reset Password.
