How to view Game Help on PS5 consoles

To view Game Help while in a game, follow these steps.

  1. Go to the control center and select the card marked with Game Help.
    A list of objectives appears. Game Help is available for objectives marked with Game Help.
  2. Select the objective you want help with.
    Game help details appear on the card. 
  3. If the card contains a video, select Play.
    Press the PS button to return to your game.

What is Game Help?

Having trouble progressing through a game on your PS5® console and need a little help? Depending on where you are or what you’re doing in the game, there may be hints, tips, or walkthrough videos to help you.

  • Game Help Notifications appear when you begin playing a game that supports Game Help. 
  • Game Help is available only for supported games.
  • For supported games, you can watch videos of other players’ gameplay as Community Game Help. If you participate in the Community Game Help Program, your gameplay videos are automatically captured and published, and appear as Community Game Help.

How to set up Community Game Help

You can participate in Community Game Help by allowing your gameplay video to be automatically captured and added to the feature upon review.

  1. To opt in, go to Settings > Captures & Broadcasts > Auto Captures > Community Game Help.
  2. Select Participate.
    You can also opt-out at any time.

You can also configure the following settings from this menu:

  • Monthly Capture Limit
    Control how many videos are captured from your gameplay each month.
  • Your Published Videos
    See all of your videos that are currently viewable to the public.
  • The Community Game Help program is available only for adult accounts.
  • If you opt out of the Community Game Help program, your gameplay is no longer captured or uploaded, your published videos are removed, and any videos are permanently deleted. Your videos are also removed from any Game Help hints they appear in.

Tips for using Game Help on PS5 consoles

  • Game Help content that includes spoilers for your game's storyline appears as hidden activities. To check the details for hidden activities, follow the on-screen instructions.
  • If you want to play your game while referring to the guide, try using Pin to Side. Select Multitasking from the screen in step 3. To stop using Pin to Side or to change its position, select Multitasking to see a menu of options.
  • Press the options button to access closed captions, audio settings, and multitasking options for certain kinds of Game Help.
  • If Game Help appears on the trophies detail screen, you can get hints for earning trophies.
