Atreus traži znanje koje će mu pomoći razumjeti proročanstvo o "Lokiju" i vlastitoj ulozi u Ragnaröku. Kratos mora odlučiti hoće li biti sputan strahom od ponavljanja vlastitih grešaka ili će se osloboditi prošlosti i postati otac kakav Atreusu treba.
Sjekira Levijatan, Mačevi kaosa i Zaštitnički štit opet su tu, kao i mnoštvo novih sposobnosti za Kratosa i Atreusa. Kratosove ubojite spartanske vještine bit će na kušnji kao nikad prije dok se bori s bogovima i čudovištima u svih Devet svjetova kako bi zaštitio svoju obitelj.
